This was so ridiculously good and the texture was perfect. The only thing I did differently is I put in sugar free chocolate pudding instead of pistachio to make it a mint chocolate shake.

I saw this on Pinterest and decided to try it. Seriously good stuff. Whoever thought of using crescent roll dough to make crust was a genius. It is like deep dish crust!

There are a million protein cheesecake recipes floating around

But I made this Protein Cheesecake recipe the other day and is pretty dang delectable. The author even gives you ideas on how to make it other flavors. I’ve been trying out toppings for mine and I enjoy some sugar free strawberry jam on mine. You don’t have to add anything to it though, it tastes good just straight out of the pan. =)

I made this and it was delicious! Instead of rice I put it over a piece of toasted Ezekiel bread. But that’s just because I hate cooking rice.

I’ve found an even better recipe for a mug protein brownie!

The recipe is from here.

  • 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
  • 1 Tbs of peanut butter or any other kind of nut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbs of water

Mix all together and microwave for ~1:30 minutes.

This one is tasted better than the one with banana in my opinion and it has way less calories and carbs. Depending on your protein powder, it comes out to about 300 calories and 30ish grams of protein. I think I just found my new breakfast food.

I tried these Paleo Mug Cakes this morning. Pretty dang delicious. Only changes I made are that I used protein powder instead of cocoa powder and peanut butter instead of almond butter.

The Battle of the Dough is over and there is one clear winner - The Pie Crust!
The Pizza Dough was just too stiff and thin for this. It came out sort of crunchy and hard. The pie dough on the other hand was softer, thicker and tasted better. Also, the pie dough was way easier to work with which made the little guys come out way prettier than their opponent. The only change I made to the pie crust recipe was to use unsweetened applesauce instead of oil.
For the fillings I used steak boiled in Mrs. Dash seasoning, baked sweet potatoes, frozen peas and minced onion. The other filling, which turned out pretty gross, was chicken breast boiled in chicken seasoning, spinach, cherry tomatoes and a little bit of cottage cheese. Definitely won’t be doing that again.
I’m really excited to see what other stuff I can cram into this dough.

This is a plate of Baked “Fried” Pickles. Oh yeah, I did. And they are delicious.
I mentioned the other day how I was craving some fried pickles and how I was going to try and find a place around here that has some. Well, I was looking at the nutritional facts for them and it was like 180 calories for 7 pickles and an outrageous amount of fat. 7 pickles?! That isn’t even a quarter of a basket! So I said hell no to that and made my own. They came out all crispy and salty and amazing. Perfection.
24 hamburger dill pickles
1 egg beaten
1/2 cup Japanese-style panko bread crumbs
1 tsp creole seasoning
Pat the pickles down with a paper towel to get the juice off.
Mix the panko crumbs with the creole seasoning.
Dip the pickles into the egg.
Dredge the pickles in the panko crumbs.
Put on a greased up cookie sheet
Cook for ~10 minutes at 400F. Flip them and cook for another 5 minutes. Put them on the top shelf and broil for 1 minute.
24 pickles, 170 calories, 20 carbs. The fat and the protein are suspect because it comes mostly from the egg and you only dip the pickles in the egg, not use the whole thing, so I wasn’t really sure how accurate it’d be.

Personal Pan Spaghetti Squash Lasagna

I’m just going to leave this here…

Sloppy Joes on a whole wheat bun. 232 calories.
I love this recipe and so did my aunt’s family. We didn’t tell the youngest that there was onions, bell pepper, mushrooms and carrots in it and he didn’t even know the difference. He thought it was great. Hidden veggies for the win!
