Yesterday was a glorious 65 degrees so my roommate, Steph, and I decided to go for a bike ride after church. It was finally warm enough that I could unearth the shorts that I had packed away some 4 months ago. I put them on and found this:
Even the legs were loose. I guess come spring, it’ll be time to do some shopping!
WHY?!
I was at Publix and they were having buy one, get one free on V8 Splash juice so without even looking at labels I put four in my cart.
This morning I was eating breakfast and finally looked at the ingredients. The FIRST ingredient is high fructose corn syrup. WHYYYYY?!
Moral of the story: Nothing is safe. Check labels every time.

Goals
I’ve come up with some swimming goals for myself that I’d like to accomplish by Spring Break which for me starts February 25.
Swim the 500 yards in 9:50.
Swim the 500 yards continuously using the front crawl - only one lap with breast stroke.
Have working knowledge and be able to swim all 6 strokes decently enough so that I can get into the WSI course after Spring Break.

I saw it!
I stepped on the scale this morning and it read 179.4! Now I know not to get excited because it is early in the morning and I’m starving and it won’t be the same tomorrow, but there it was before me - the 170s. My goal is to reach 180 by the time I leave for spring break but it looks like I might meet the goal ahead of schedule! Yaaay!

I called Vanessa after bitching about counting calories and she came to the gym with me and kicked my ass.

There is class today!
After two terribly long snow days I am so glad classes are resuming. I especially can’t wait to go to Lifeguarding class and swim my little heart out.

Just going to throw this out there
My 185 lbs ass swam 500 yards in 10:10. 10 mother f-ing minutes and 10 mofuggin seconds.
I beat just about all the girls and most of the guys. At the end all these much smaller girls were like “Way to go! That’s awesome!”

In 50 minutes I will walk in my bathing suit into the university pool for my Lifeguarding class. I feel like throwing up. I mean, the last time I did my Lifeguarding training I was 220 pounds so I know I’ll be okay, but still I’m nervous.

So I’m loving my kettlebells, but I am having a serious problem with smashing my forearms when doing snatches. I try to punch it out like the videos on youtube say, but I still am getting a little beat up.

I’m at a Lan party (don’t judge me) and alcohol is abundant. I keep getting asked what I want to drink and it is so hard to stick with my water. I’ve been sober for 119 days but I am struggling tonight. Ahhhh!!
